Louise Jolly specialises in language, cultural theory and – should you ever need some – philosophy.

She began her career in academia, where she completed a PhD on representations of consumer culture in nineteenth-century Paris. She then turned to copywriting, but always wished she could think more analytically and theoretically about the communications she worked on each day.

The answer came along with semiotics, which enables her to apply conceptual analysis to the ever-fascinating worlds of advertising and business.
